Repeat Hold Fast customers on board today and the conditions were right for ground fishing.  We left real early to beat the tide, and had lines in before the sunrise.  The day started with a slow pick of short cod, dogfish, and smaller sized keepers.  Then as the sun rose a little higher and the tide picked up we found a steadier bite of keeper cod and less dogs.  Jigs were the name of the game today.  By about 10am we had all the fish that the guys wanted to take home, so we started up the chum slick to see if there were still a few sharks around.  With the water below the 60 degree mark the bite wasn’t as good as a few months ago.  We still managed to draw a few in, and the guys got to test their stand-up fishing skills with the bucket harness.  Thanks again to Ben, James, and Matt hope to do it again next year.

Best,

Capt. Mike
