Tourney time! This weekend was all about winning, and we fished like it.  The Plymouth Bass and Blue 400 started at 5am Saturday morning with over 130 entrants.   Our hopes were high heading in as Wednesday’s trip saw the biggest fish we had seen all year.  But…as soon as you think you’ve got things figured out, mother nature throws a curveball at you.  The east wind we had on Thursday juiced the water temp up to 68-70 degrees and killed the bite! We struggled to find the fish all morning.  We got chomped off by some nice bluefish on our bass leaders, but finally managed to get one to the boat.  8.4 lbs a respectable bluefish.  Fast forward to 1 pm with the tide change and wind shift and the bass started to eat!  We caught 4 bass, biggest of which was over 26 lbs.  Time for the weigh in…our bass put us in second place behind a 29 lber, and the blue also landed in second place behind a 10 1/2 lber.  Still have some work to do to bring this one home.  We will be at it again early tomorrow…

Best,

Capt. Mike
