Got after it early again today and it was gorgeous out.  The Hold Fast left the dock at 4am and the sea was like a mirror from the second we pulled away all the way through the afternoon.  It was like fishing on a lake. The mackerel were strangely tough to come by.  I guess the bluefish have started to do a number on them.  Anyways, we were able to scratch together enough bait to get in some serious fishing.  We had some tough luck early in the day and dropped a number of nice fish, but we were able to piece together a very nice trip when all was said and through.  Biggest fish of the day was right at the 30 lb mark!  Can’t complain when big fish like that hit the deck.  Great to see some many big fish around and catchable this time of year.  We will be getting after it hard again this week!
