This week was cap’s bachelor party down in Newport, so the HOLD FAST made the 90 mile trek down from Scituate.  It was flat calm, but very foggy which made things trickier than they should have been.  We stopped about 60 miles into our journey to try for some seabass and it didn’t take long.  Within a half an hour we had about 15 seabass and a total of four species on deck…seabass, fluke, bluefish, and scup devouring squid and SPRO bucktail jigs and teasers.  Wish we had that kind of inshore groundfishing at home! Today was more of a port to port day than a fishing trip, but we made the most out of our time with lines in.  More reports to follow!

Best,

Capt. Mike
